The night from Saturday to Sunday is an hour shorter, because summer time has started. The clock was moved to 3 a.m. at 2 a.m.

The start of summer time not only has consequences for people’s night’s sleep. The hunters’ association calls on motorists to be extra alert on crossing game. According to the association, the risk of collisions with roe deer, deer and wild boar is increasing “sharply”, because motorists go on the road at other times.

Summer time was introduced in the Netherlands in 1977 to save energy. In the spring and summer it is therefore dark longer in the morning and light longer in the evening.
