Peter Roose, mayor of Veurne: “The sugar park is a large part of our territory, namely almost 45 hectares. It consists of 15 hectares of nature, 15 hectares of business park and 15 hectares of residential area that is under development. The intention is to realize 450 homes there.”
It is an investment of 3.6 million euros. The bridge is more than 200 meters and spans the Lovaart. A graceful bridge was chosen that matches the green of the area. For cyclists it is extra stairs on the sloping surfaces.
The sugar bridge is part of a plan to improve mobility and accessibility between the different Veurnse neighborhoods.
