It is a complete decline for Sophie Hilbrand: After years of pulling a dead horse, BNNVARA has decided to dismiss her as presenter of the late talk show. Her successor becomes Tim de Wit. Together with Jeroen Pauw, he will present the new daily program Pauw & De Wit after the summer, a big promotion for him.
Not the looks
Mediaciticus Victor Vlam finds it striking, because according to him Tim does not look like a typical presenter, but, as he notes in the podcast The Communicado’s: “Sophie Hilbrand simply did not have the favor of the viewer. I think Tim de Wit is a good choice in that respect.”
He continues: “It is someone who is known as a good journalist. I declare the fact that he has not received this promotion before by finding that he does not necessarily have the looks of a typical TV presenter.”
