NR Sports, the company of Neymar and his father, would reportedly pay around 15.5 million euros to acquire Pelé’s portrait rights. Neymar is expected to announce the news on Wednesday, November 19, which is the anniversary of Pele’s 1,000th goal.

By purchasing the portrait rights, Neymar and co could use images and Pelé’s name for, for example, merchandising. It is not yet clear what exactly the star footballer wants to do with the portrait rights.
Neymar currently plays in the Brazilian top division for Santos, the team that Pelé also starred for. Neymar has missed many games this season due to a hamstring injury, but has been in the starting line-up again in the past two games. He has scored six goals in 26 games across all competitions this season.
