The passage of storm Eunice has claimed its first fatality in our country: a man in his seventies ended up at the marina in Ypres because of the fierce wind in the water and later died in hospital. In addition, at least three people have been seriously injured, two of which are in critical condition. It concerns a 17-year-old jogger who was hit by a tree in Menen, a man who was hit on the head in Ghent by a torn solar panel and a man who suffered a serious head injury at a construction site in Temse due to a loosened steel plate.
