The NS expected the problems to be resolved around 4 p.m. on Sunday. This was later adjusted to 6:15 p.m.
The NS recommends using the Amsterdam metro. There are also no intercity trains running between Schiphol Airport and Leiden Central Station and fewer intercity direct trains running between Schiphol Airport and Rotterdam Central Station.
The disruption falls on the same weekend as the work around Amsterdam Zuid station. Since Saturday, travelers have had to take into account fuller trains, more crowds on platforms and an adjusted timetable.
A spokesperson for the NS informed NH on Saturday that the broken overhead line is separate from this work. The adjusted timetable due to the work will last until Tuesday, January 28.
