‘Stay away from the TV show Hélène Hendriks!’

It is really striking how many negative reactions Johnny de Mol receives for partially stealing Hélène Hendriks’ talk show. “It’s her program and no one else’s!”

Hélène Hendriks was surprised by it yesterday: from now on her talk show De Oranjezomer is no longer just hers. Yesterday she presented a Talpa event for advertisers and TV boss Frans Klein and colleague Johnny de Mol sat at her table. Johnny casually announced that he was stealing a piece of Hélène’s program.

Hot off the press

The painful thing is: the images of it were shown last night in Show news and it shows very clearly that Hélène was surprised by it at that moment. And she admits this afterwards in front of the camera of the show section.

The presenter: “Fresh from the press. I think it’s just been decided. I also just realized that it is going ahead, so I had to switch gears, but great fun and what is it going to be called? I think we’ll get to that in due course. I think we had already made an advance: The Oranjezomer with Johnny.”

Hélène will present De Oranjezomer for eight weeks next summer, followed by Johnny for four weeks.

Negative reactions

It is truly unprecedented how negatively the news of Johnny’s arrival is being received. The Facebook pages of RTL Boulevard and Shownieuws are packed with critical responses (see here and here). It is really clear that the viewers of SBS 6 want De Oranjezomer to remain Hélène’s program and that Johnny does not become part of it.

René is annoyed by it. “Daddy arranged that, sickening.”

Greta: “The program belongs to Hélène and NO ONE else!!”

“Not again Johnny!”

Annemieke thinks it’s a shame. “The Orange Summer is Hélène and not Johnny again.”

Heidi: “And Johnny again. Pfff, every program where the presenter leaves, he comes back! A bit Johnny-tired.”

Evelyn: “I think it’s scandalous. Then I won’t watch anymore.”

Bianca: “Too bad, I’m going to miss her. She does it casually. I think she does it better than Johnny.”

Agnes: “Too bad, don’t look anymore.”

‘All in the family’

It goes on like this. Bas: “Hélène is perfect, she is a great woman. Johnny de Mol, never mind. Jellyfish.”

Elise: “If you are related to De Mol, you don’t have to be able to do anything. A bit of presentation or free candy trips… Just like Noa: get rich by being lazy.”

Ger: “No, no. Nice boy, but can’t compete with Hélène. What motivates old Mole?”
