After the first day of the state visit of German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Mrs Elke Büdenbender, the day ended festively with a state banquet in the Royal Palace on Dam Square. Various politicians, members of the Royal House and guests with a special bond with Germany were present, including Queen Máxima, Princess Alexia of the Netherlands, Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands and Rob Jetten. The state banquet started with speeches from King Willem-Alexander and Federal President Steinmeier. The speeches were well received and caused several laughs and nods of approval in the audience.
