Koen Darras from Torhout completed an important test today in the run-up to his planned crossing of the Atlantic Ocean. The adventurer traveled more than 300 kilometers with his kite off the coast of Zeebrugge.
That distance is impressive, but according to Darras it remains only an intermediate step towards his ultimate goal. In January he wants to be the first kite surfer to cross the Atlantic Ocean solo, from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean. The journey would be approximately 5,000 to 6,000 kilometers and take about sixty days.
