After a Halloween weekend marked by gray and rainy weather in much of the country, the forecast seems to improve and bring a more pleasant climate from North to South. Meteorological experts have anticipated that we could even expect an early St. Martin’s Summer: but what is it exactly? What are the meteorologists’ forecasts and what temperatures can we expect in the next few days?

Meteorologists predict that from Tuesday 4 November high pressure could rise again in the Bel Paese: Italy will be affected by sunshine and a mild climate, with temperatures higher than expected seasonal averages. The forecasts concern almost all regions, from North to South: it will be an anomalous phase, given that, as regards the maximum temperatures, the thermometers could exceed 18 degrees.
So it could be an early St. Martin’s Summer. We are about to enter a real break from autumn, after the bad weather that characterized the days of Halloween, All Saints’ Day and the commemoration of the deceased. The term “St. Martin’s Summer” indicates a mild and sunny period which occurs at the beginning of November and is linked to a legend about the saint commemorated by the Catholic Church on November 11th.

Let’s see in detail how the weather will evolve in the next few hours: from Tuesday 4 November it is expected a phase of atmospheric stabilitywith clear or slightly cloudy skies and temperatures above the seasonal average at least until Thursday 6 November. But be careful in the North: the presence of high pressure could favor the formation of mists and fogs in the plainstypically autumnal phenomena destined to dissolve by late morning, leaving room for the sun. During the night, however, it thermal shock will be evident, with a sharp drop in temperatures already starting from sunset.
Between Thursday 6 and Friday 7 November 2025, a new Atlantic front connected to a vortex, which will first touch the coasts of Sardinia, bringing rain to the two largest islands and, subsequently, also to the south and central Adriatic regions. The temperatures, however, will remain pleasant.
