This concerns a total of six locations. Two gymnasiums in Bussum are closing – at the Dr. Schaepmanlaan and Kwartellaan – as well as the De Zandzee swimming pool and sports center. In Naarden, the De Lunet swimming pool and sports center will be closed, as will the Ravelijn/Kinderrijk daycare center. The Bredius sports hall in Muiden will remain closed for the time being.
Danger of collapse
In various places in the country it has previously been shown that the weight of the centimeters of thick snow can cause problems. For example, the roof of the Hall 22 sports complex collapsed completely in Utrecht. No one was injured. Things also went wrong in Hilversum: the Egelshoek succumbed this morning the roof of a stable where cattle were kept.
The municipality of Gooise Meren reports that it will be assessed on Sunday evening, January 11, whether enough snow has disappeared from the roofs to safely reopen the locations. If that is not the case, the locations will remain closed longer.
