The Austrian online sports dealer Sport Okay GmbH is expanding to the Netherlands.
After market entries in Spain and France last year, the operator of the Sportokay.com platform, based in Innsbruck, is now starting in the Netherlands, as the company announced on Friday.
The reason for the entry into the Netherlands is in particular the sports fishing of the Dutch: inside. According to the Dutch Statistics Office CBS, around 60 percent of the population regularly exercises sports. At the same time, the market for sporting goods is growing continuously – the annual market volume is estimated at around 4.5 billion euros. Against this background, Sportokay.com sees itself well positioned in order to play a leading role in online trading in this dynamic environment, according to the message.
In addition, there is the fact that the company’s packaging robots come from the Netherlands. According to CEO Konrad Plankensteiner, the fact that these are now also sending packages back has almost something poetic.
