Sporting Lisbon again won the championship in Portugal.
The defending champion won 2-0 (0-0) against Vitoria Guimaraes on the last matchday with 2-0 (0-0) and thus triumphed with record champions Benfica in the remote duel.
At Sporting Braga, the city rival did not get 1: 1 (0: 1) – despite the overnight of almost 30 minutes.
After the 1: 1 a week in direct encounter with Benfica, the two clubs had 79 points each. For Sporting it is the 21st championship title. Benfica, who had been trained by Roger Schmidt by the end of August last year, is with 38 triumph of Portuguese record champions.
