Ilkka-Ostrobothnian reported that the Ice Hockey League League Vaasan Sport is standing Topi Rönn Behind the salary.
Sport published Rönn’s contract on Saturday. Since then, there has been a lot of debate on the matter, as Rönni was sentenced to the prison sentence of the year in March 2024 for rape as a young person.
On Thursday, Rönn’s agent confirmed to Iltalehti that the parties had considered the termination of the agreement.
Now Ilkka-Pohjalainen’s CEO of Sport commented on the matter Jonne Kemppainen.
– Of course, discussions with our community have included thoughts from the side. Any termination of the contract has been part of the debate that has been held in recent days. At the concrete level, however, we have not thought about it, Kemppainen said.
According to Kemppainen, Sport stands behind the salary.
According to Kemppainen, Sport offered Rönn an agreement as the player has clearly communicated remorse and mental growth. According to Kemppainen, Rönni has said that he has applied for treatment when the investigation began.
According to Iltalehti, Sport’s partners have received at least some messages that have been criticized by Rönn’s salary.
