A 28-year-old motorcyclist from Hardenberg has temporarily lost his driver’s license because he exhibited dangerous driving behavior in Assen in October 2022. For example, the man pulled a wheelie (riding on the rear wheel) and at certain times drove 210 kilometers per hour, while he was allowed to do 50.
The speed demon took parts of the cycle path with him on the Franselaan. He also didn’t stop at the red light. Officers noticed the striking behavior. The motorcyclist ignored their stop sign, but was later arrested.
The motorcyclist did not attend the hearing. Not even his lawyer, who had recently resigned. Special, the judge said: “His driving style can be seen on videos on YouTube.” The man was sentenced to a total of 50 hours of community service and was also banned from driving for three months.
He was given a conditional fine of 810 euros for ignoring the stop sign and driving without a valid driver’s license.
