Phil Taylor is the biggest legend in darts. Could “The Power” pull it back onto the stage again? The record world champion has now spoken plain text in this regard.

“No, no my career is over now. I will be on the Seniors Tour and work there, but no longer throw arrows,” said Phil Taylor to “Bild”.

The 64-year-old had said goodbye to the PDC tour at the 2018 Darts World Cup. Then Taylor was still active on the seniors tour. Now it should be finally over.

That was Phil Taylor’s greatest darts moment

He was “very proud of what I achieved in my career,” said the Englishman. Taylor is a 16-fold darts world champion and therefore the undisputed record champion.

“My first World Cup title and even the qualification for the World Cup was my greatest moment. The first World Cup victory is always the most difficult.

Taylor had won the Darts crown for the first time at BDO in 1990. In 1992 another title was added to the former association. Until 2013, Taylor all won its remaining 14 World Championships at PDC.

Darts World Cup in Saudi Arabia? Not excluded for Phil Taylor

The Darts World Cup has been held in the legendary Alexandra Palace in London since 2008. In the meantime, it is speculated whether the season highlight could take place in Saudi Arabia in the future.

“It can be,” Taylor did not want to rule out this scenario: “If the World Cup goes to Saudi Arabia, you may talk about around 5 million pounds for the winner. The country loves sport and invests a lot there.” From the upcoming Darts World Cup, the world champion receives a million pounds (around 1.2 million euros), as the PDC recently confirmed.
