The Moroccan Football Association (FRMF) announced this on Friday. Her appointment is a first in Morocco and in the entire Arab world.
Karboubi, 34, has been active as a professional referee since 2016 and was also the first woman to participate in the arbitration in a men’s match in Morocco. In the final of the Africa Cup, earlier this year between Senegal and Egypt, she was part of the VAR team.
