Documents and a video show that Common Law is turning against the current government, with a role for armed sheriffs who arrest enemies of the people. The founders are a 67-year-old woman from Oostburg and a 56-year-old man from Zwaag.

In a video on YouTube, the duo called for the overthrow of the current government and the arrest and trial of administrators and politicians. The man from Zwaag was sentenced to sixteen months in prison, four of which were conditional. The woman was sentenced to one year in prison, of which 190 days were conditional, and 120 hours of community service.

Prison sentences of up to 3.5 years

Three men from the municipality of Deventer have been convicted of possessing firearms. One of them is ‘sheriff’ Arjan van den B. (46), who, together with co-suspects, had purchased heavy fireworks, walkie-talkies and more than ten weapons, including weapons for other departments of the Volksraad. He was sentenced to two years in prison, much lower than the seven years demanded.

The court acquitted the trio of participation in a terrorist organization, because it could not be proven that their organization De Deventer Denktank (DDDT) had the intention to commit terrorist crimes.

The highest sentences have been imposed on two men from Overijssel who supplied weapons to the sovereigns. One of them was sentenced to 3.5 years, of which one year was conditional.
