This week US President Donald Trump again decided to bring Taylor Swift into conversation because he still feels insulted by her democratic election patterns. He again published a contribution to Truth, in which he celebrated the controversial “Great Jeans” commercial from Sydney Sweeney for American Eagle and the unveiling that she was registered as a republican. While he praised Sweeney, he happened to shot against Swift and said that the “Woke singer” was “no longer hot”.
Control over master recordings regained
Unfortunately, Trump’s repeated claims that Swift had lost value or impetus due to his one -sided argument with her still far from the truth. According to representatives of Luminate, Swift has so far (as of July 31) the most streamed female artist in the United States this year. This applies, even though she did not publish new music in 2025, and is based on the total number of on-demand audio streams (a total of 5.3 billion). Overall, she is still in third place behind Morgan Wallen and Drake, who have released new projects and singles this year.
The biggest Swift news this year were their recovery of control over their master recordings-a year-long struggle in which they re-recorded four of the six albums that she had released from Big Machine Records. According to “Hits Daily Double”, the recovery of this master means that it will have a market share “in the order of two percent”. That alone is worth billions.
Trump’s constant comments on his perception that Swift was less successful, only really increased after she ended her Eras Tour in December. With 149 shows, Swifts Tour became the most successful of all time and the first tour, which ever recorded over a billion dollar sales. And with the release of her album “The Tortured Poets Department” in 2024, she broke her own record for the most streamed album in a single day – and exceeded her 2022 album “Midnights”. Trump’s only “evidence” for her alleged failure is that she is currently not working actively. But even if she does nothing (at least not, as far as we know), she is still one of the most commercial artists of all time.
