She polarizes like hardly any other player at the women’s European Championship. Now the Swiss has her own bodyguard because of the vertebrae around her person.
In the starting eleven, Alisha Lehmann will not be likely to be against top favorite Spain in the European Championship quarter-finals of Switzerland on Friday (9 p.m. in the T-Online Live ticker). Nevertheless, the eyes are focused on them. Not because of their football skills, but rather because of their activities on social media.
There, Lehmann, who has almost 17 million followers, is extremely polarized there. Many fans love them and their posts, others find it ridiculous. In the training sessions, she is the most sought -after player in Switzerland – there is a crowding when she is asked for photos or should give autographs. A man appears in the suit in these situations, he is the security chief of the Swiss national team. He stands a little away in photos and autograph requests and observes the location. As the “picture” reports, he had to intervene because fans came too close to her.
“We always make sure that the security of the players has a top priority in all stages. During the tournament, this is organized by the UEFA, and our security boss is always on site. After the games, he is always there when the players approach the fans, and due to the awareness of Alisha Lehmann, he sometimes accompanies them a little further,” says Sven Micossé, press spokesman for the Swiss women’s team.
