The fourth studio album from Oasis, “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants”, came out on February 28, 2000 – now, 25 years later, the siblings celebrate the round anniversary with a re -published record. All information is overview here.

A celebrated experiment

The album marked a milestone at the time, because it was the first work that Liam and Noel Gallagher under their own label Big Brother Recording Ltd. launched the market. The company was founded in January 2000 and was the result of the sudden closure of the British label Creation Records, in which Oasis had their home.

And from the sound, the LP was also considered a pioneering work in the repertoire of Oasis. At that time, Noel Gallagher hit a new direction and relied on a rather experimental approach. The style of the recordings is strongly shaped by modern psychedelic rock.

Despite the new concept, “Standing on the Shoulders of Giants” was able to achieve great success. In Great Britain, the record shot in place on the album charts and sold around 310,000 times in the first week alone. In the meantime, the work has even been awarded a double platinum. In Germany, too, Oasis climbed the charts with the disc in 2000 and reached fifth place at peak times.
