In a heated EM quarter-finals, Germany prevailed against Slovenia. After the game, the inferior sought the blame for the referees.

The discussions continued with the final siren. The Slovenes, who repeatedly complained about their decisions at the referee team, gave no rest even after the defeat in the quarter-finals of the Basketball European Championship against Germany.

Slovenia’s Alen Omić was certain: “That is why we lost.” Coach Aleksander Sekulić even spoke of “strange things” that had happened. The focus was on superstar Luka Dončić, who had problems with fouls early on. After two minutes he had received a technical foul for complaint. “If you don’t even get a warning, I don’t know either. It is a quarter -finals, we are fighting to move into the semi -finals, then I really don’t understand it,” Dončić complained after the game.

According to the Slovenian newspaper “Ekipa24”, the 26-year-old should even become one of the referees “ashamed!” have said.

The exceptional cloak is considered a weak defender, so it was repeatedly attacked by the Germans. Already in the second quarter he had three fouls on the account, the fifth would have been his premature end. His fourth foul followed early in the third quarter. “Something like that has never happened to me in all my career,” said the Los Angeles Lakers’ NBA superstar.

However, in several situations, Dončić was also lucky that fouls were whistled against his opponents, although there was actually no rule violation. Slovenia’s coach Aleksander Sekulić could still understand the frustration of his superstar. “My boys can go home raised. Not everyone can say that on the floor today,” the coach said in the direction of the impartial.

For the German team on Friday in the semi-finals at 4 p.m. (in the live ticker at T-Online) against Finland. In the group phase, the DBB selection clearly won the duel with 91:61. But: “The first game no longer counts,” said Center Daniel Theis.
