SLIM – scheme for partnerships and large companies changed | news item

With effect from 1 June 2022, a number of things will change in the procedure for assessing applications for the SLIM scheme: Partnerships and large companies.

What will change?

  • Partnerships have 2 months from 1 June to submit their application.
  • Applications are processed immediately in the order in which they are received. For this application round, the lottery will be abolished. This is possible because there is sufficient budget available in this application period. In 2020 and 2021, the subsidy ceiling of €18.7 million proved sufficient. Therefore, a draw is not necessary. (Applicants can apply for a grant of up to €500,000 for their project.)

The extension of the application period from 1 to 2 months gives applicants sufficient time to prepare a good application. This offers the possibility to contact the subsidy provider, Implementation of Policy (UVB), earlier about their application. During the previous application periods, many applications were initially found to be incomplete. This leads to questions from the Implementation of Policy. The sooner these questions are answered, the sooner there will be clarity about whether or not a subsidy will be granted.

The SLIM scheme has several target groups with their own opening periods. On June 1, 2022, the time slot for Partnerships for SMEs and large companies from the seasonal sectors of hospitality, agriculture and recreation will open. Individual SMEs can submit their application on 1 September.

The SLIM subsidy helps entrepreneurs to create a training and development culture in their company. With the subsidy, companies can set up initiatives to allow their employees to continue to develop during their careers in order to keep them highly employable and also to ensure that people continue to find their work fun and challenging.
