At the summer grand prix of the ski jumper in Predazzo, the flagship eagles of the DSV jump far behind. National coach Stefan Horngacher draws a sober conclusion without public criticism – and also sees positive developments.

Clearly, the top German jumpers Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger and Pius Paschke introduced themselves to the summer season.

In the matt competition from the normal hill, the trio just jumped afterwards. Geiger (92 and 93 meters) reached the second round with Ach and noise, for Paschke after only one jump (96.5 meters) and 36th place early.

The best was Andreas Wellinger: his 22nd place was also a disappointment in view of the skills of the Olympic champion on the small Bakken of the world.

“Unfortunately, Andreas Wellinger, Karl Geiger and Pius Paschke did not get on so well here,” said national coach Stefan Horngacher and made a problem area: “You didn’t get the jumps away from the ski jump table.”

The Austrian took a little out of criticism that “caught a little bit of tailwind”.

Horngacher also had reason for praise. Philipp Raimund became sixth and confirmed his previously strong achievements in the summer GP.

“We are actually very satisfied with the sixth place by Philipp Raimund, he jumped very well, got the second round even better than the first. A very good performance for him,” praised the 25-year-old’s global class.

“Luca Roth and Felix Hoffmann also brought over their training performance,” said Horngacher about his eagles from the second row. Roth took 16 rank in Predazzo, Hoffmann was 17.

Wellinger, Geiger and Paschke already have the opportunity to present themselves more on Friday. It will then jump on the big hill.
