On the first weekend in December, ski jumpers will fight for important World Cup points – and prize money – in Wisla, Poland. There are big differences between men and women.

After Lillehammer and Falun, Wisla is the third venue of the ski jumping season, where both men and women will fly over the ski jumps in the World Cup. In addition to the sporting incentive, the financial incentive is also likely to play a role.

And for men it’s even gotten a little bigger this year. While first place in a competition in the 2024/2025 season was rewarded with the equivalent of around 13,900 euros (13,000 francs), it is now 15,000 euros. Another change: From this season, the prize money will be given in euros; previously it was shown in Swiss francs. Meanwhile, the second and third place winners will be awarded 10,000 and 8,000 euros respectively for their performance.

The amounts involved for women are significantly lower. With 5,000 euros, the winner receives just a third of what her male colleague earns. Second and third places receive 4,000 and 3,000 euros respectively. Nevertheless, the bonuses have also increased here compared to the last World Cup competition in 2022 on the Adam Małysz ski jump. At that time, for example, first place was paid the equivalent of around 4,290 euros (4,000 francs).

A total of 270,900 euros in prize money will be distributed among the athletes at the four competitions on the Polish large hill from December 4th to 7th.
