The South Tyrolean champion returned to Royal Park I Roveri with Edoardo Molinari. A few days of rest before starting preparations for 2026 again
On the eve of Italy’s debut in the Davis Cup Finals, Jannik Sinner chose another field, golf. The world number two, fresh from his victory at the ATP Finals against Carlos Alcaraz, returned to Royal Park I Roveri on Monday, having played with the team on the eve of the tournament. This time with him was Edoardo Molinari, Ryder Cup champion, who manages the academy that bears his name within Turin golf. Not only that, yesterday Jannik was also spotted on the greens of Gardagolf, the prestigious club in Soiano del Lago, on the Brescia side of Garda. Sinner comes from a monster season, which ended just a few days ago with the triumph in Turin, the second consecutive title in the masters’ tournament. After having dragged Italy to successes in the 2023 and 2024 Davis Cup, this year he chose to stop: no defense of the title on the field, but a planned break to catch his breath and set up the work in view of 2026, starting from the Australian Open. The Finals in Bologna will however start with high ambitions for the Azzurri, Jannik will be the first fan and, in the meantime, he will have fun on the green: it is the first real day of the off-season and golf is nothing new in the world of Sinner.
relaxation and rivalry

It is a relief valve, away from the spotlight of the circuit, and also a way to stay immersed in the nature that he loves so much, without losing his competitive spirit. In Cincinnati last summer, Jannik talked about how he uses his free days to play with his team: “It relaxes me, it’s a nice way to spend time together,” he explained. It is a passion shared with Carlos Alcaraz, with whom the rivalry could extend beyond the racket. But for now Jannik is holding back: “I’m going to play golf, but not with Carlos: he’s too strong for me…”, smiled the world number two.
