In Nanjing, Chinese, Mitton extended her indoor title from a year ago in Glasgow. The American Chase Jackson won the bronze. At 20.06 meters she only got 1 centimeter less far than painter.
Second medal
The Dutch power athlete also fourth two weeks ago in Apeldoorn, when she won her first European indoor title with a thrust of 20.69 meters. It is her second medal at a World Cup indoor.
She won Brons in 2022 in Belgrade. Last year she grabbed the medals at the Olympic Games in Paris, but she extended her European title Outdoor in Rome.
With her golden distance from Apeldoorn, Schilder led the world ranking and therefore applied as a candidate for a medal in Nanjing. The entire indoor season she stood out with constantly distant bumps.
Relaxed
The Volendamse also looked relaxed in Nanjing. She chatted with her competitors in between. In her second attempt, she noted the 20.07, which she would no longer improve afterwards. Mitton noted 20.36 in her second bump, and then to get it up to 20.48 in her sixth and last attempt.
“I have worked on technology and the bumps are now becoming a bit stable. Constant about 20 meters of bumps then gives a lot of confidence,” she said earlier this season about her form. “I also think I have become more mature again. I can better deal with the tension.”
