About 4,000 people took part in a silent march in Horst on Thursday evening. Friends and loved ones of the late 21-year-old Guus Janssen organized a route from Boscafé Het Maasdal where he worked to Lambertusplein in the center of Horst.
Along the way, the procession also stopped at the Wittenhorst football club. There Guus played in the eleventh team. Torches were lit at the sports park.
The group of friends wants to keep him in mind and show how much loved he was. The twenty-something died on Carnival Monday in a stabbing on Lambertusplein.

It went wrong on Monday evening around 7:30 pm. When Guus wanted to calm an argument, he was stabbed. The emergency services rushed out en masse. The victim was still being resuscitated, but help was to no avail.
A 19-year-old suspect from Tienray has been arrested for the stabbing. He is suspected of manslaughter. Justice thinks that Guus was deliberately killed. The suspect will be presented to the examining magistrate on Friday.
