Successful start! 1. FC Union wins its first test of preparation 2-0 (2-0) at fourth division Luckenwalde. Coach Urs Fischer almost completely changes his team at the break.
Before the break in defense: Olowaseun Ogbemudia. The 16-year-old defender, who has just signed from St. Pauli for the youngsters of the Irons, can start right away. And the German-Nigerian does his job properly. However, the game is over for Ogbemudia after 38 minutes. He defends himself without opponent influence, hobbles off the field – and into the cabin. Bad luck!
Not with the regional league: Frederik Rönnow, Sheraldo Becker and Aissa Laidouni, who only started training again on Monday after their international matches.

Also missing are newcomers Brenden Aaronson and David Fafana. Instead, Alex Kral and Mikkel Kaufmann start, Kral in defensive midfield, Kaufmann in attack. The attacker immediately has a good scene when he asserts himself on the right, but Siebatcheu cannot convert the Dane’s input (1st). Two minutes later, the Franco-American does it better: Haberer heads into the penalty area, Siebatcheu stays calm and shoots in – 1:0 (3rd). Shortly thereafter, Haberer converted a Kemlein pass to make it 2-0 (6th).
Union has things under control in front of 3044 spectators in the sold-out Werner-Seelenbinder-Stadion. Kaufmann is trying, Kral has no problems in front of the defense.

After the break, ten new ones come. With Albion Jahaj also the next talent that can run in the storm. However, next to nothing happens in the second part of the game. Pantovic checks Luckenwalde’s goalkeeper Sommer (67th), Thorsby’s header goes past (79th) – that’s all.
The next test is on Saturday. The pros travel to Hungary, to cup winners Zalagerszeg (kick-off 4:30 p.m.).
