The performance of the Shakespeare Theater in Diever could not take place tonight due to the bad weather conditions. By Code Geel, the board was forced to cancel the event.
“It is always a difficult decision,” says the Jack Nieborg, director. “You have people who come and watch and actors who want to play. But it was too great a risk and we didn’t dare to take that.”
The open -air theater, in the middle of the forest, can accommodate around 1000 visitors. With heavy showers and thunderstorms on the radar exactly above Diever, the board did not consider it justified to let the performance go through.
“It only became clear an hour before the performance. So there were already people in the theater, but also a number of people on the road. Fortunately, we have been able to inform a large part quickly, by telephone or in the theater that it is not going on.”
Tonight visitors will receive a message from the Shakespeare Theater, how to proceed.
