Borussia Mönchengladbach has been without goalkeeper and captain Jonas Omlin for months. A shoulder operation is unavoidable for the 29-year-old Swiss.
This was announced by Borussia on Tuesday after thorough investigations. Because of his shoulder injury, Omlin missed the 2-1 draw against Bayern Munich on Saturday. In the coming week, the Borussia keeper is to be operated on in his home country.
In addition to 25-year-old Moritz Nicolas, who represented Omlin against Bayern, there are two other professional goalkeepers in the squad in veteran Tobias Sippel (35) and talent Jan Olschowsky (21).
