Russian Diana Shnaider (25), who beat 4-time grand slam champion and women’s world number 1 Aryna Sabalenka 2-1 with sets of 3-6, 7-5 and 6-0, at the tournament in Paris, the capital of France, got the first semi-final ticket of her career.
In the other quarter-final match of the day, Polish Chwalinska, who came from the qualifiers and is ranked 114th in the world, defeated Anna Kalinskaya (22) 2-0 with sets of 7-6 and 6-3 and reached the grand slam semi-finals for the first time in her career.
Shnaider and Chwalinska will meet in the semifinals.
