Patty Brard was yesterday, unlike her former colleagues José Hoebee and Marga Scheide, not present at an album presentation by LUV ‘. Why not? “She is the big star in the end.”

A new album has been released with Remixes from Luv ‘and that was presented yesterday in Hilversum. Two of the three former members of the girl group were present: Marga Scheide and José Hoebee. But Patty Brard? It was nowhere to be seen. And that is of course because she still has her two former colleagues.

Marga and José

Fortunately, Marga and José really like the album party without Patty. “I am very proud that after those forty years there is still attention,” says José for the camera of Shownieuws.

Her colleague Marga Scheide: “It keeps going on and that is actually very funny, because when I started it I actually didn’t give it a year, so now, a while later, I think: well done.”

“What is missing?”

Don’t they miss Patty in this gathering? “Yes, what is missing, isn’t it?” Says José cynically.

Marga: “It has been the case since 1980. Actually, because of circumstances we went differently and then we tried it a few more times, but in the end it’s just over, so fine. Everyone’s own side. It runs as it runs. I can’t do anything about it. I didn’t want it, so it’s that way.”

José: “And we are girlfriends.”

The big star

Shownieuws presenter Dyantha Brooks, who is good friends with Patty, notes after the item: “It is a pity that the big star of the company is missing.”

Music connoisseur Erik de Zwart: “Well, they are just three stars, all three.”

Dyantha: “Was Patty not the star of the three?”

Erik: “Patty was the most controversial, I think.”

Dyantha: “Every group has a Beyoncé, anyway, I always say. You had that in Destiny’s Child, for example.”

Appearance

Erik takes it up for José and Marga. “I think they all had a special appearance.”

Studiogast Jochem van Gelder, who is currently everywhere for a comeback of talk makers, on that: “Yes, but I think Patty was the best thing. José was a bit introverted, anyway? He sang best.”

Erik: “That’s right. That has also been a bit of the reason for stopping in 1981. I remember exactly. We said goodbye in my music program Nederland Muziekland. They did their very last performance.”

Dyantha concludes: “The problem is always the same, namely that there is always that one big star.”
