Nephew of Samuel Eto’o

Sportfreunde Lotte have signed Ulrich Bapoh, who is experienced in the second division. The 25-year-old midfielder, whose uncle is a certain Samuel Eto’o, was most recently under contract with Alemannia Aachen, where he had already played in the Regionalliga West. Previously, he also gained higher-class experience at VfL Osnabrück, VfL Bochum and, on loan, at Twente Enschede.
“Ulrich is a very good footballer who has not yet been able to reach his full potential due to bad luck with injuries. We’re trying to get that out of him now. He will greatly strengthen us both in terms of his type and his playful component,” said coach Fabian Lübbers.
