Mobilepay informsthat there will be a service fee for money transfers of more than 400 euros between persons from March 24, 2025.
The amount of the service fee is 1 percent of the part exceeding 400 euros. The service fee applies to the shipment to the same person within 24 hours. The service fee applies only to transfers between individuals, not to transfers made to a company or entity.
The release also states that with the price change, the daily payment limit will also be removed and replaced by a weekly limit of 10,000 euros. The annual limit of 40,000 euros is still valid.
Mobilepay justifies the change by building a financially sustainable business.
– By adding a reasonable service fee to large money transfers, Mobilepay can offer the majority of transfers free of charge. Only about 2 percent of the transfers made with Mobilepay between people exceed the €400 limit, the release says.
