Here’s what happened in the three opening matches of matchday 23 (all three groups involved)

The cover was taken by Ternana’s bad evening, which slipped on the Pineto pitch and missed the opportunity to provisionally take the top of group B (leaders Entella goes to Carpi on Sunday): Ivan Tisci’s team starts aggressively, hits a post after 10 minutes with Chakir and then the break at the start of the second half with the same Italian-Moroccan, who did well to exploit Bruzzaniti’s suggestion. It is the third victory in a row for an increasingly consolidated Pineto in the playoff zone, for the Umbrians an unexpected slowdown with the possibility of now being joined in second place by Torres and Pescara.

In group C, a good effort by Cerignola – convincing third in the standings – on the Giugliano pitch (3-1): in the first half Padula responds with a penalty to Paolucci’s first lead, but Oyewale’s expulsion before the break breaks the game (in Giugliano’s best moment) with the guests who – in numerical superiority – first extended the lead with Coccia and then closed the score with the substitute Volpe, a new signing who had already scored his second consecutive goal. In group A, however, everything happens in the first half between Lecco and Novara (1-1): in the 10th minute Kritta breaks the balance with a left foot that finds Minelli surprised at his post, in the 26th minute Ongaro equalizes with some protests for a contact not considered punishable between the Canadian attacker himself and Polito (very little happens in the second half).
