All in all, it’s a good match, as far as it goes, that of Vicenza in Novara. The league leaders let themselves be caught twice, but also risked losing by playing for more than half an hour with ten men due to the double yellow for captain Costa: Basso responded to Morra’s penalty, then Lanini to Stuckler’s second goal, while Valdesi who in the final binned the possible overtaking in front of Gagno. At the last gasp, Ravenna gave themselves an explosion of joy and the solitary top spot (even if they still had to rest in the first half of the season): the Pontedera of the new coach Banchieri was ahead of Benelli even beyond the 90th minute, but in extra-large recovery time came Luciani’s equalizer and Okaka’s fantastic back-heel to seal the turnaround (second back-heel goal, for the new-found centre-forward, after the one against Ascoli). Ternana celebrates in the Curi derby, decided by a great shot from Vallocchia (second defeat in a row for Tedesco’s Perugia). Tie between Torres and Pineto (Musso replies to Mastropietro), as well as in Guidonia-Juventus Next Gen with two goals from the bench: Tessiore’s beautiful overhead kick, Amaradio’s Juventus response following Guerra’s cue.

Only Benevento keeps Catania’s pace, winning by a narrow margin on the Cavese pitch and isolating themselves in second place, two from the top. In a balanced match, Simonetti’s performance decides, with Floro Flores analyzing in the end: “Maybe a draw would have been fairer, but this victory can be decisive for us.” Salernitana’s difficulties continue, however, as they haven’t won in five matches and – challenged at Arechi – slip within five points of Catania: Trapani passes through Grandolfo, a nice free kick from Anastasio scores a draw but Galeotti’s saves then secure the 1-1 draw. Salernitana is now tied at 32 points from Cosenza, who return to winning ways by overtaking Picerno (now last alone) thanks to the left-footed shot of substitute Achour. Fifth match without success for Monopoli: Colombo’s team – fresh from a contract extension – played the entire second half without the expelled Viteritti, took the lead with Fall’s penalty but was caught by Atalanta U23 with Comi. The day of draws, seven out of 10 games, ended with a 1-1 draw between Cerignola and Casertana: Gasbarro’s unfortunate own goal punished the home team, which would have deserved something more.
