Reggiana shines on Saturday in Serie B. Nesta’s team overwhelms Feralpisalò in Piacenza, finishing in mid-table and starting to study the top teams closely. Among these is Como, who narrowly wins at Sinigaglia against the surprise Catanzaro and flies to fifth place alone. Sudtirol, on the other hand, rose to sixth place, beating Samp at the Druso thanks to a penalty in full stoppage time which infuriated Pirlo, who was then sent off. It ends goalless at Picco, between Spezia and Cosenza. To close, the 4.15pm match between Ascoli and Parma at the Del Duca. Little or nothing happens in the first 45 minutes of Druso. After a goalless first half, the match heated up at the start of the second half and Samp was the one to come through: Facundo Gonzalez broke the deadlock in the game, chilling Poluzzi in the 54th minute with a nice header from Giordano’s corner. The hosts equalized in the 77th minute, with Odogwu’s left foot: the attacker received it in the area, blocked it with his chest and turned his left foot towards goal, finding his fourth goal of the season with the help of the crossbar. Piacenza’s match was opened by Antiste’s great performance, which put the guests ahead after 8′. The attacker receives the ball from Portanova on the edge of the area, turns in the narrow area and passes Pizzignacco with a 5-a-side touch. The match goes downhill for Nesta’s men just before half-time, after the penalty kick has been whistled for a foul on Portanova: captain Cigarini makes no mistake from eleven meters and scores the second goal. Verdi’s penalty breaks the ice at Sinigaglia. After a few minutes, Katseris handled the attacker’s cross in the area and referee Di Marco awarded the penalty, which was scored in the 6th minute. Como played well and came close to scoring an encore on at least a couple of occasions before the break: first it was Curto who chipped the crossbar from long range, then it was Gabrielloni who failed to double his header from close range, following a suggestion from Kone. In the second half, Vivarini’s team improves and comes within nothing of equalizing: about twenty minutes into the ninetieth minute, Pompetti hits the crossbar from a free kick. The result does not change: Longo rejoices, returning to success after a month and placing fifth.
