Sensation at the Darts World Cup
Underdog throws out double world champion

The “Flying Scotsman” Gary Anderson is one of the best darts players in the world. But the Scot will no longer be at the World Cup from now on.
The Swede Jeffrey de Graaf created a real sensation at the Darts World Cup. In the second round, the 34-year-old knocked out two-time world champion Gary Anderson. And even with an announcement: de Graaf won 3:0 (3:1, 3:0, 3:2) and dominated the entire match.
His double rate was particularly impressive. He only needed twelve attempts for his nine checkouts (75 percent), while Anderson only hit three of his 20 throws on double fields (15 percent).
Anderson kept arguing with himself and didn’t live up to his favorite status. De Graaf, only 81st in the Order of Merit, the world rankings in darts, went into the second round as a clear underdog against the “Flying Scotsman” in 14th place.
In the third round, Jeffrey de Graaf will now face Paolo Nebrida, another surprise of this World Cup. The man from the Philippines threw out Jim Williams and now Ross Smith.
