Secret contract detail revealed by high-starter

Justin Njinmah is becoming increasingly important for Werder Bremen in his first Bundesliga season. Last weekend, the attacker put his team on the road to victory with his goal to make it 2-1 against SC Freiburg (final score 3-1). His club had already been preparing for such a strong form from the 23-year-old last year.

As has just now been revealed in “Bild”, summer transfer Justin Njinmah has agreed on a special salary arrangement with the Werder bosses. The working paper therefore stipulates that the basic salary of the Hamburg native will be adjusted upwards depending on performance and working hours.

Since Njinmah has now become a top performer for the North Germans and has already scored four Bundesliga goals, this salary adjustment will soon take effect, according to the media report.

Njinmah moved back to Weser from third division club Borussia Dortmund II in the summer of 2023. He had already played in Bremen for a year in the 2021/2022 season, but at that time only for the club’s U23s.

Werder man Njinmah: “It’s really cool!”

Njinmah himself was surprised that he was finding his way so well in the German top flight in his first year, as he revealed: “When you come from the third division, you don’t expect to immediately perform like that in the Bundesliga and can play. But that just motivates me. So for me personally that’s really cool,” the German-Nigerian was quoted as saying in “Bild”.

His rise under head coach Ole Werner, who already knew him from their time together at Holstein Kiel, “still feels a bit surreal,” as Njinmah himself said.

The next weekend on the SVW attacker’s Bundesliga schedule is the away game at 1. FSV Mainz.
