Sean “Diddy” Combs expects to be released from prison in early 2026.
It was only at the end of October that Sean “Diddy” Combs arrived at a new detention facility, the Fort Dix Prison in New Jersey. There he will serve his prison sentence totaling 50 months. After the trial and an appeal, this sentence was recently officially confirmed. He was found guilty by a jury in July 2025 under the Mann Act – a law that prohibits transporting people across state lines for prostitution.

Combs expects freedom soon
Now Combs is said to be sure that he won’t spend too much time in Fort Dix. According to reports from “TMZ”, the federal prison in New Jersey announced that it was convinced that the current US President Donald Trump would pardon him – in just a few weeks. Combs expects a penalty waiver as early as the beginning of 2026. He promised his fellow prisoners that he would take care of them as soon as he was released back into freedom thanks to Trump’s encouragement.
Hope for Trump’s approval is not the first time
Sean “Diddy” Combs has apparently been dreaming of being pardoned for a long time. At the beginning of October, Trump confirmed to the media that Combs had asked him for a pardon before his final conviction. At the time, he spoke out against it – although he did not mention the seriousness of Combs’ actions, instead citing the fact that he was “hostile” when Trump was running for president, Newsmax reported.
Trump’s pardons often come under criticism
Most recently, the US President’s pardon of Binance founder Changpeng Zhao, known as CZ, was heavily criticized. CZ was sentenced to four months in prison in April 2024 for violating money laundering laws. In an interview with the CBS show “60 Minutes,” Trump rejected allegations of pursuing his own interests with the pardon, even though he described himself as a supporter of cryptocurrencies.
