Seagulls scare off burglar in Blackpool | Abroad

Casey McDonell (40) sneaked through a backyard around 4.15 am, when he deprived a pair of herring gulls the night rest. The birds were not at all happy with that and had immediately targeted the man.

Images of the angry seagulls were shown during a court hearing. The burglar was seen being attacked while trying to open the back door of the house.

McDonell panicked and fled.

Jail and fine

The burglar was identified with the help of CCTV footage from the residents. He was charged with attempted burglary.

McDonell pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison. In addition, he had to pay a fine of (converted) about 280 euros.
