And if Italy had its own too The Last Dancethe docu-series on the life and career of Michael Jordan that revolutionized the language of sports narration?

Street urchins foreverproduced by Tramp Limited with Rai Documentari directed by Gianni Costantino, is a journey into an almost forgotten undertaking, that of Juvecaserta of basketball, capable of winning its first and only championship in 1991, interrupting the dominance of the northern teams (Milan, Varese, Cantù, the Bolognese).

A scene from “Scugnizzi forever”

A story that is reconstructed in six episodes, sinking into the roots of the project, when – in the previous decades – the Brescia entrepreneur Giovanni Maggiò decides to invest in this strip of the South step by step putting together a winning organization complete with a new building built in one hundred days.

The docu-series alternates interviews and testimonies of the protagonists (a team made up almost entirely of Caserta residents, including Nando Gentile and Enzo Esposito, around whose friendship much of the narrative revolves), audiovisual fragments of the time with a massive but not redundant use of the Rai Teche which help to reconstruct the atmosphere of the period, and parts of fiction with actors who lend their faces in some situations.

For those who love romantic narratives of sport and its connections with history and culture.
