After Hamas’ terrorist attack on Israel, the war is now being fought on Berlin’s schoolyards! A fight broke out at a Neukölln high school on Monday when a teacher (61) tried to take a Palestinian flag away from a student.
The Berlin teacher Paula Ranft described on Sunday in a courageous speech at the Brandenburg Gate that agitation against Jews and the State of Israel by young people of Arab origin has long been part of everyday life in Berlin schools. An incident less than 24 hours later in the schoolyard of the Ernst-Abbe-Gymnasium on Neukölln’s Sonnenallee shows how far the hatred goes!
A video distributed on the short message service X (formerly Twitter) shows a student (14) pulling a Palestinian flag out of his backpack around 9:30 a.m. He waves it around the schoolyard and several young people shout enthusiastically: “Allahu akbar!”
A teacher (61) then tries to take the flag away from him. Whether this will succeed, however, cannot be seen.
Less than 30 seconds later, the argument moved to a table tennis table. The 61-year-old, visibly upset, attacked a 15-year-old who attacked the teacher in a street fight style.
The police are alerted. A short time later the recordings went viral.
The police are investigating mutual assault. According to a police spokesman, the state security agency responsible for politically motivated crimes has also taken over the investigation.
According to the spokesman, the teacher said that he had to defend himself. He had previously been hit in the head by a 15-year-old who had stood up to protect himself from the student with the flag. He also filed a complaint against the teacher.
