A seventeen-year-old scooter rider who had just got his driver’s license has run into the lamp in Sint-Oedenrode. He drove around without a license plate and when an agent wanted to stop him, the boy fled. The agent finally managed to drive him. The boy still had to apply for his driver’s license, but he can forget that for the time being after this ride.
A motorcycle agent saw a seventeen-year-old boy driving on the eastern Randweg in Sint-Oedenrode last week on a scooter without license plates. When the agent wanted to check him and gave him a stop sign, the boy fled.
What followed was a short chase, where the speed of the boy sometimes exceeded 110 kilometers per hour. The agent was able to ride him on the Koninginnelaan.
When the agent checked his scooter, it turned out to have been converted. “For example, there was an 183cc engine block underneath, while 50cc was indicated on the registration certificate,” the police reported on Monday.
The scooter has been seized and is destroyed. Multiple official reports are drawn up against the driver, including for his dangerous driving behavior. His driver’s license was taken because he drove way too fast.
In addition, the boy only recently appeared to have obtained his driving license B. He had not even applied for this. “Because his driver’s license has now been collected, he cannot request a new driver’s license and he will have to wait until he gets it back.”
