The Bruges police received fifteen reports of online scams last week. The victims were approached, among other things, via false e-mails and phone calls from scammers who occurred as the health insurance or card stop. Most victims are older than 70 and were put under pressure by telephone or e-mail to share personal bank details or pin codes. It is often about professional -looking messages that call for urgent action.

The police emphasize that Card Stop rarely contacts customers himself and that you can never pass on your PIN code. It is also requested to warn the elderly in the area of such scams tricks.
