Sebastian Vettel comments on Outings in motorsport – and thus creates a vehement reaction of his former colleague.
The former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher is bothered by a formulation of the four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel about old white men. Vettel (37) had praised in an interview by the “Tages-Anzeiger” in Zurich about Schumacher (49), who had made his homosexuality public last summer.
“I don’t know if I could speak openly about it myself. So we should appreciate if someone does it,” said Vettel. “Actually good” was taken in Schumacher’s step in the motorsport scene. “But of course motorsport is still the world in which old white men celebrate a petrol party. Some things are taboo,” said Vettel.
Schumacher now replied on Instagram: “Thank you for appreciation. However, I find the remark about old white men completely wrong because it does not correspond to the truth. Find this wording very narrowly.” For Schumacher, according to his own assessment, “the outing was not a problem and I was supported by the entire F1”.
