The former international and national coach Steffi Jones moves to the supervisory board at FC Schalke 04. The 52-year-old succeeds Youri Mulder, who has been permanently moving to the post of sports director.

The 52-year-old, who has been living in Gelsenkirchen for years, is the first woman in the Schalke supervisory board.

“Schalke is a special club that stands for cohesion and passion,” said Jones: “I live here, I know the people and know how important the club is for the region. It is an honor for me to work on the supervisory board and bring in my experience.”

Among other things, she wants to work for women’s football: “In addition, I would also like to support Schalke with my experience and my network.”

Axel Hefer, the chairman of the Supervisory Board, emphasized the competence and down -to -earthness and football knowledge of Jones. “For this purpose, she has been firmly rooted in Gelsenkirchen for many years and knows about the importance of Schalke 04 for the city and beyond,” said Hefer: “We are really looking forward to the cooperation.”
