Paderborn’s President Thomas Sagel confirmed the change from sports manager Benjamin Weber to FC Augsburg.

“I can confirm that we agreed with Augsburg,” said the 61-year-old at the presentation of coach Ralf Kettemann in Paderborn.

Weber has been a sports manager there since January 2023. Previously, he was a video analyst for Thomas Tuchel in Mainz, Dortmund, Paris and at Chelsea FC.

At the Bundesliga club from Swabia, he is said to be a sports director of Marinko Jurendic, who recently had to go together with coach Jess Thorup. The new coach of the FCA becomes Julian Nagelsmann’s former assistant Sandro Wagner.

In Paderborn, the Verler sports director Sebastian Lange is considered a possible successor to Weber. Sagel thanked Weber, “who not only did a good one, but an extraordinary work”.
