45-year-old Rämö writes that he did not believe that his age, a healthy, much-sports woman, could be in danger of drowning in water to a depth of 50 centimeters.
-I go to the sauna 1-2 times a week, go to the cold sea, or if I’m in the swimming pool, I go to the cold water pool, Rämö writes.
– I’ve probably done the same thing hundreds of times. I think I’m pretty good for swimming, I’m strong, basic healthy and I can usually “a little bit” even though I feel like I can’t do it anymore.
Rämö says he visited the sauna on Midsummer Saturday. From the sauna he had walked into the sea and sat down to get back to the sauna soon.
– Suddenly my feet, but it doesn’t work. The scenery begins to spin in the eyes and I feel my head starts sinking into the water
Rämö explains in the post that the steam was not hard. The seawater was about ten degrees Celsius and there were no waves or sea currents. Also, Rämö did not suffer from hangover because he had not drunk alcohol for a couple of days.
Fortunately, Rämö’s two friends were about a meter away. Rämö was “yard” so he couldn’t get up and lifted his hand.
– My friend is an ambulance nurse, it immediately realized what was going on and started pulling me up with another friend up the water and the beach. The consciousness did not leave, but it took a few minutes before I completely Virkos, Rämö says.
Rämö enjoyed less than a minute in the shoreline. He says that no similar situation has happened before.
Rämö reminds his followers that it is never worth going alone in cool water. He states that while in the steam, blood pressure often drops, in cold water it rises respectively. So the body goes into the shock in cool water.
– You always have to look at the beach and in the pool after others, Rämö reminds and states that it would be a good idea to have a few minutes between the steam and the cold water.
– Fortunately, this was not the last experience. But I will always remember this. We are careful in the water, Rämö concludes his post.
